About MCS

MCS is a mark of quality and demonstrates
compliance to industry standards that companies
strive to meet. It highlights to consumers that
companies are able to consistently install or
manufacture to the highest quality every time.

Following the previous announcements concerning the MCZ Suite, Club, and Hydro products, BRE Global Ltd have now concluded their investigation.

The currently suspended products have now had their product certification withdrawn by BRE. No new registrations of these products may be made on the MCS Installation Database. Please see the full announcement on the BRE website here.

Following the investigation, MCZ has developed a safety device which may be fitted to the products. Details regarding the fix and safety device should be obtained from Specflue, their UK distributor:

Safety Device Fitting Notifications

MCS has put requirements in place which require MCS installers to notify the scheme when the safety device has been fitted to existing installations. Please read the following information below carefully:

1)            In the circumstances where the installation has already been registered with MCS, a new certificate will not need to be issued out and instead the installer must get the fix installed with Specflue, and then confirm this has taken place by virtue of an email to the MCS helpdesk This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

2)            In the circumstances where the installation was installed but was not registered because of the suspension, the installers can register these installations with MCS using the new product certification numbers, but only once they have worked with Specflue to have the fix installed and they confirm with MCS (via an email to the helpdesk This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) that the fix has been applied.

3)            In the circumstances where new installations taking place outside of the suspension period, these will be treated as per the normal process in that installers will be able to register the installations as needed.

MCS cannot answer technical queries about the fix or the safety device. These must be directed to Specflue in the first instance.
