About MCS

MCS is a mark of quality and demonstrates
compliance to industry standards that companies
strive to meet. It highlights to consumers that
companies are able to consistently install or
manufacture to the highest quality every time.

The Ecodesign of Energy-related Products (ErP) Directive came into force on 26th September 2015. MCS Heat Pump standards were updated to be in line with the directive.

Installer Standard: MIS 3005 v4.3
Product Standard: MCS 007 v5.0

A transition period has been in place since 26th September for Heat Pump products, however from 26th March 2016 a Heat Pump product must comply with MCS 007 v5.0 to remain MCS certified.

Further information on how the ErP directly affects MCS Heat Pump contractors and product manufacturers can be found below, along with links to ErP FAQs and an Ofgem Domestic RHI ErP helpsheet.

MCS Certification Body: Please note it is your responsibility to inform your Heat Pump product manufacturer about these requirements. Please can you ensure that they are aware of these details.
