MCS has today published an updated version of MCS 012 (Product Certification Scheme Requirements - Pitched Roof Installation Kits - Issue 2.2), which will become mandatory for all certified MCS 012 products from 10th April 2018.

The standard has been updated to include the following amendments:

  • Amended references from prEN 15601:2006 to PD CEN/TR 15601:2012 throughout the standard.
  • Amended references from BS 5534:2003 to BS 5534:2014+A1:2015 throughout the standard.
  • Additional requirement in A2. Scope that the results of the roof mounting kit’s performance against test procedures shall be made publicly available on the MCS product certificate holder’s website.
  • Amended A4.2.1 Method to remove references to BS EN 14437: 2004 and to clarify the failure criteria.
  • Amended A5.1.1 Alternative Methods Note (ii) to replace term roofing membrane with barrier material.
  • Amended A7.2 Resistance to wind uplift to provide a greater degree of flexibility in reporting results and conclusions of failure modes.
