Planned Updates

The MCS Installation Database (MID) will be undergoing maintenance and will not be accessible from 17:00 on Thursday 27th April 2017. We expect the website to be unavailable for 30-60 minutes.

As part of the maintenance work, MCS will be updating the MID to allow MCS Contractors to input multiple heat products of the same technology type and product code on the same MCS certificate.

Please do not try to access the database during this time as you will be unable to generate certificates and it is unlikely that any MCS certificates will be sent out.

We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.

Recent Updates

For recent updates to the MCS Installation Database, please see below.

The MCS Installation Database (MID) underwent maintenance on Thursday 8th December from 4.00pm to 4.30pm. This was for essential updates to the database.

The MCS Installation Database (MID) underwent maintenance on Monday 6th June 2016.

As part of the maintenance work, MCS updated the MID to allow MCS Contractors to select which MCS 012 products (roof mounting kits) they have used with their Solar PV installations. This is mandatory for Solar PV installations.

MCS Contractors installing Solar Thermal products may also select MCS 012 products if they wish to do so.

The MCS Installation Database (MID) underwent maintenance on Friday 4th December. During this maintenance window the MCS installation certificate was updated to include installer’s Trading Standards Institute (TSI) consumer code membership details.

Since 5th November, when you create a MCS Certification you are asked to clarify whether the installation is domestic or non-domestic, and to provide further details regarding the insurance warranty provider and insurance policy if applicable.

The changes are detailed below:

First new question

“Is the installation intended for domestic or non-domestic use?”

  • Domestic
  • Non-Domestic

Second set of questions

If non-domestic has been selected, an option will appear for you to indicate that no insurance policy has been issued.

For domestic installations or certain non-domestic installations, the details below must be provided:

Insurance Warranty Provider  Select from a drop down list of providers
Insurance Policy or Certificate Number Enter the insurance policy or certificate number
Insurance Policy or Certificate Start Date Enter the insurance policy or certificate start date

We have created a FAQs document regarding the Insurance-Backed Workmanship Warranty, which you can access here
