About MCS

MCS is a mark of quality and demonstrates
compliance to industry standards that companies
strive to meet. It highlights to consumers that
companies are able to consistently install or
manufacture to the highest quality every time.

MCS has today launched its process for obtaining MCS certificates for consumers whose MCS installation companies have ceased trading or are no longer MCS certified. The process and checklist for applicants requesting a copy of the MCS certificate can be found here. Please read the information below for further guidance.

MCS has today launched its process for obtaining MCS certificates for consumers whose MCS installation companies have ceased trading or are no longer MCS certified. The process and checklist for applicants requesting a copy of the MCS certificate can be found here.

Consumers will also need to sign and return the customer statement found here. The disclaimer that MCS will provide with any MCS certificates generated in this way will also be provided. A copy of this is available here.

The process and checklist has been designed for customers who are missing their MCS Certificate for their installation and that on the date of the commissioning ALL of the following 3 points have been met:

  1. Commissioned by an MCS Installation Company;
  2. Include an MCS certified product; and
  3. Have a commissioning date on or after 15th July 2009.

In addition to the above, MCS is only be able to generate the MCS Certificate for customers have not received a copy of their MCS Certificate and the original MCS installation company are either:

  1. No longer trading, and therefore no longer registered with MCS; or
  2. No longer a member of MCS voluntarily, and therefore no longer registered with MCS.

We will acknowledge receipt of the information within 3 working days, and certificates will be generated within 10 working days from that point (assuming all information is correct). NB. The period in which a certificate is generated may be extended if the information provided is incorrect or we are required to ask the customer for further information.

We are only able to provide the MCS certificate based on the information you have provided us, and this is no guarantee of access to any governmental incentive schemes such as Feed-In Tariffs and the Renewable Heat Incentive.
