Product Validity

All MCS products and Transition Products which are electricity led (i.e. Solar Photovoltaic, Wind Turbines, Micro CHP, and Micro Hydro) are eligible for the Feed-In Tariffs (FITs). To qualify for FITs (with the exception of Micro Hydro at present), these products must be installed and commissioned by an MCS Installation companyat any time from the date they have been listed on the MCS website, up until 6 months after the date they have been removed from the website.

All MCS products and Transition Products which are heat led (i.e. Solar Thermal, Heat Pumps and Biomass) will be eligible for the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) provided the technology is including within the RHI and meets the eligibility criteria for the RHI. The heat led MCS Products and Transition Products need to be installed and commissioned by an MCS Installation company at any time from the date they have been listed on the MCS website up until 6 months after they have been removed from the website. there are however exceptions surrounding products which are removed because of safety issues for both electricity led products and heat led products.
