Finance & Incentives

Incentives are available for electricity-generating
installations (Feed-in Tariffs) and for heat-generating
installations (Renewable Heat Incentive).

Finance & Incentives

Welcome to the Finance & Incentives section of the MCS website. Here you will be able to find out about any finance schemes and incentives that are available for the different technology types.

MCS covers up to 50kW for electricity generating technologies, and 45kW for heat generating technologies. For installations of this size, incentive schemes are available for electricity generating technologies, i.e. Feed-in Tariff (FITs), and heat generating technologies, i.e. Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI).

MCS is an eligibility requirement for the various incentive programmes available, but we do not administer any of these schemes.  To be eligible for FITs, RHPP and non domestic RHI incentives, the product and the installation company must be MCS certified at the time of commissioning. Please note that heating technology products eligible for the domestic RHI must also be listed on the Ofgem Product Eligibility List.

The Green Deal financial mechanism was launched in October 2012 and certain technologies covered by MCS are included in the Green Deal measures.

The Home Renewables Loan Scheme has now come to and end due to an overwhelming demand, however, customers who would like to apply should frequent their website as they may secure further funding to re-start the scheme in the near future.
