Do you have a question about your Feed in Tariff (FIT) or Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) application?
MCS does not administer these schemes and is unable to advise on the progress or eligibility of your application to claim incentives. Please contact Ofgem for queries of this nature.

Are you trying to get hold of your MCS Certificate?
Your MCS Contractor must have been MCS Certified when the system was commissioned. Please contact the MCS Contractor to obtain a copy. The MCS Standards state the MCS Contractor must issue the certificate within 10 days of commissioning.
If they do not, you are able to submit a formal complaint due to the breach of the MCS Standards.
Are you trying to fix incorrect details displayed on your MCS Certificate?
If your MCS Contractor is still operating, they must ensure all details are correct on the certificate and reissue a corrected certificate. However, if the installer is no longer operating, MCS can make the amendment on their behalf and issue the corrected certificate. Please ensure you complete the steps outlined here in order for MCS to process your certificate. It may delay us sending your certificate if you do not fully complete the process before submitting your request.
Please note, information contained on the MCS Certificate is protected. Details cannot be given out over the phone or via email. The only instance in which information can be given is upon receipt of proof of ownership from the owner of the system.
Are details of your company incorrectly displayed on our website?
MCS Certified Contractor and Product information is based on data received from the Certification Bodies on a weekly basis. Please direct information amendment requests to your Certification Body directly. Our records will be updated within five working days accordingly.
Have you missed the 10 day window to generate an MCS Certificate or need to amend the commissioning date for an existing certificate?
Please apply for Extended Access to the MID by completing the online form.
Are you trying to amend an MCS Certificate?
In order to make an amendment, simply log in to the record and navigate through to the required section and make the amendment required. Once that is complete ensure you click “Finish” on the final page. This will generate a new version of the existing certificate, however the certificate number will remain the same. Fields that can be amended include:
- Address details
- Meter details
- Product details
- EAG, DNC and EAG
You do not require permission from MCS to make the above changes. However, all changes will be kept on record.
Do you require technical assistance?
MCS is unable to provide technical assistance. Please contact your Certification Body for technical advice to ensure the installation complies with the MCS Standards.
Are you trying to remove an MCS Certificate off the MCS Installation Database (MID)?
Under no circumstances can MCS Certificates be removed from the MID. However, duplicates and certificates created in error can be withdrawn by the MCS Administrator. To make such a request please email email@example.com.

MCS administer the scheme on behalf of the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS)
MCS is a quality assurance scheme. However, the MCS Certificate does not automatically ensure the system is covered by insurance or warranty.
MCS ensures the quality of an installation up to, and including, commissioning and handover. The scheme does not cover maintenance or repair.
