The Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) has today launched a revised version of the Microgeneration Certification Scheme Brand Guidelines (version 3.0) with references to the ‘Secretary of State’ replaced with the ‘MCS Charitable Foundation’. This revision has been made to align with the new structure and ownership of the MCS Scheme. You can view the new MCS Branding Guidelines here.

Today, MCS has published Issue 1.2 of MGD 001, the guidance document to accompany MCS 001-1 MCS Contractor Certification Scheme Requirements Part 1: Requirements for MCS Contractors.
Guidance on satisfying clause 4 in MCS 001-1 (Contracts and customer requirements) has been updated to align with the introduction of the Assignment of Rights (AoR) to the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI). Read more
Following previous communication, the MCS Steering Group met on 5th December 2017 and agreed an increase of the per installation fee to £30 to take place on or as soon as practicable after 1st March 2018. Post-novation, the MCSSCo Board of Directors unanimously supported this decision.
This fee was agreed as the minimum increase necessary to allow the Scheme to function with a balanced budget.
MCSSCo would like to update you on two developments with key dates to be aware of next month.
MCS is aware of phishing emails being sent to MCS Contractors due to the ‘Contact Installer’ forms being misused by an automated programme designed for such a purpose.
On 7th February 2018, the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) laid regulations to implement reforms to both the Domestic and Non-Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) schemes before Parliament. On 27th June 2018, Assignment of Rights will come into effect for the domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI).
It has been just over a month since the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) became fully independent of government through novation and we are already making progress in a number of key areas.
