MCS has always welcomed companies demonstrating competence not just through assessment or qualifications, but equally through relevant experience, or a combination of both. The Scheme is not just about operatives needing to have formal training or qualifications. The publication of the competency criteria means that it is now clearer on what knowledge and relevant experience is required to have resulted in.
A company’s competence can be demonstrated in the following ways:
- Providing evidence of approved and in date qualifications/short courses being held
by individuals in the company, or:
- Certification Body validation of your evidence of competency (also called
Experienced Workers Route), or:
- A combination of the above two routes
